We perceived the importance of infection control so wherever throughout the dental center we always prevent the production of the pathogen and implement the health standards strictly. Our infection control system is applied rigorously by two ways both directly and indirectly to eliminate bacteria, virus and spreading infection fungal. This is our leading concern due to the increasing level of social diseases such as HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), hepatitis and infectious diseases reached alarming. On the other hand, daily we are exposed to blood, saliva and some other bacteria in the treatment process for patients so we always have to prevent the spread of germs and the full implementation of infection control procedures to ensure absolutely the quality of treatment and health safety.

Based on the infection control guidelines by Ministry of Public Health of Vietnam and the International Infection Control Association, the criterion precautions at I-DENT Dental Implant Center before each treatment or during the handling and cleaning of medical instruments must comply with following:

• Washing hands frequently with soap or disinfectants.
• Using protective equipment such as: suitable protective clothes, gloves, masks, individual goggles during the treatment process or cleaning medical instruments.
• Classifying and handling medical waste or sharp instruments accordingly as well as reusable instruments must be sterilized totally to maintain a clean and airy environment.
• Implementing the principles of hygiene when coughing or sneezing.
• The dental uniform or linen need to be washed and disinfected by the right way when they have been used.
• Belongings difficult to clean when contaminated should use shielding plates to avoid the spread of bacteria and clean easier.

The sterilization process

I-DENT Dental Implant Center always makes sure that the sterility testing of each dental instrument is done through the infection control machine and establishes database to record accurately the sterilization process daily which is managed by the security computer software system. This process includes using chemical to disinfect microorganisms on dental instruments, sterilization by the boiling water vapor pressure and ultimately eliminating the residual bacteria by the ultraviolet radiation bactericidal machine. These procedures are absolutely important in the sterilization process that helps us to detect any errors in disinfection process at the earliest stage before it is preserved in the UV sterilization cabinet.

The dental instrument usage policy

Dental instruments are allowed to use only one time to bring many benefits in ensuring the patients will have their individualized treatment instruments, save time as well as prevent the spread of bacteria.

I-DENT Dental Implant Center always applies the disposable principle to make sure dental instruments are packed and sealed carefully. Packaging is only allowed to open at the start of the treatment with the witness of the patient and is not reused for other patients.
