What is tartar?
The hard surface on the surface of the teeth is called tartar due to the mineralization of plaque. They are yellow or black, hard, rough surface, visible to the naked eye, and accumulate on the surface of the tooth, especially on the inside of the lower incisor, lower molar, upper jaw.
They are formed from the debris of food left over on the teeth along with the bacteria that make up the plaque. These plaques are soft at first, due to their persistence in the oral environment, with saliva rich in calcium and phosphorus, making them harden, called tartar.
